For the second day in a row, the Detroit Lions have announced a practice squad move involving tight end Jerome Cunningham, this time adding him back to the unit for the third time in just over a month. They have placed JACK linebacker Garret Dooley on the practice squad injured list.
When it’s all said and done, after the collective practice squad transactions of the last two days, JACK Linebacker Alex Barrett was brought back to the Lions and effectively replaced Dooley on the field, while Cunningham got an unpaid day off on Wednesday.
Dooley being placed on the practice squad injured list allows the team to retain his rights through the season or they can reach an injury settlement and he can be released from his contract with the Lions.
