One of the lesser-known players here at the Senior Bowl, John Cominsky is out to change that. The defensive end from D-II Charleston came to Mobile to prove that he not only belongs with the best. He believes he can be one of the best prospects here during Senior Bowl week.
The 6-5, 285-pound Cominsky cuts an impressive figure with broad shoulders and a well-muscled physique. He’s worked hard to develop his strength after being a lightly-regarded, 215-pound quarterback and free safety in high school. That fuels Cominsky to prove the NFL should not make the same mistake.
“Yeah, I do have a chip on my shoulder because I shouldn’t be looked at (as a Division II prospect), I should be expected to not only perform, but be one of the best players here,” he stated calmly.
He’s excited to meet with head coach Matt Patricia and the Detroit Lions.
“I’ll be meeting with them (Wednesday),” Cominsky said. “I’ve talked with a couple of scouts and they’re definitely excited about me. They’re bringing me in for a formal meeting, so I’ve struck enough interest with them.”
