INACTIVES: Lions vs. Rams

Quarterback Matthew Stafford will again be without some key weapons on offense, as he and the Detroit Lions are tasked today with trying to keep pace with the high-scoring Los Angeles Rams at Ford Field.

Detroit put wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. on injured reserve Monday with a knee injury, ending his 2018 season. Starting running back Kerryon Johnson is inactive today, and will miss his second consecutive contest with a knee injury.

It will again be up to Stafford, wide receiver Kenny Golladay, running back LeGarrette Blount and others to lead Detroit’s short-handed offense.

Golladay has caught 13 balls for 203 yards and a score the last two weeks. Blount ran for 88 yards and two touchdowns on Thanksgiving.

Making things even more difficult on offense for Detroit is that they’ll also be without fullback Nick Bellore (ankle), tight end Michael Roberts (shoulder) and wide receiver Brandon Powell (calf). All three are inactive today due to injury.

The bit of good news on offense for Detroit is wide receiver Bruce Ellington, who was questionable coming in with a back injury, is active. Ellington has caught six passes in each of Detroit’s last two games.

Detroit’s defense will have its full complement of starters and reserves as they try to slow down a Los Angeles offense that’s averaging more than 35 points per game.

Joining Johnson, Bellore, Roberts and Powell on Detroit’s inactive list are: Cornerback Teez Tabor, defensive end Kerry Hyder Jr. and linebacker Trevor Bates.
