They show up for home games and cheer even when the team is not a playoff contender like this year.
When the Red Wings, Pistons and Tigers lose, the arenas have thousands of empty seats– but not the Lions, who just continue to pack Ford Field despite their problems.
The place will be rocking Thursday for the Chicago Bears visit and if the Lions win their fans will go nuts.
They won’t be back in the playoff hunt but their fans will sound like the Super Bowl could be just around the corner– at least that’s in my view.
