The Detroit Lions have a new managing backs mentor, and it’s anyone who has had lots of achievement tutoring younger rushers.
The Lions hired Kyle Caskey to swap David Walker, a team supply told the Absolutely free Press on Tuesday.
Caskey expended the very last nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, exactly where he started as an assistant offensive line mentor.
Caskey was promoted to managing backs mentor in 2013, and has labored with 1,000-garden rushers Joe Mixon and Jeremy Hill early in their careers.
The Lions have not experienced a 1,000-garden rusher because Reggie Bush in 2013, but Kerryon Johnson was on rate to get to that milestone last calendar year when he endured a time-ending knee injury in November.
Jackson ran for a team-high 641 yards this time and averaged 5.4 yards for each carry, next most in the NFL.
